English Riviera

Babbacombe is to the north of Torquay and below the cliffs at Babbacombe are two beaches, Babbacombe Beach which is a small pebble beach and Oddicombe Beach which is a long red sandy beach. Facilities are all close to both beaches but parking is rather limited. Dogs allowed all year at Babbacombe Beach. Dogs banned in summer at Oddicombe Beach

Batten Bay is a small beach just below Mountbatten Point. The beach is sand and shingle with many rock pools. There are pleasant walks around Mountbatten Point, along the breakwater and up to Mountbatten Tower for some fine views across Plymouth Sound. Dogs allowed all year

Bantham Sand is an excellent large sandy beach, popular with families and surfers. There is a large expanse of sand with rock pools at the southern and there are suberb views across to Bigbury-On-Sea. Dogs restricted in summer

Bigbury-On-Sea is a super family beach with a large expanse of sand which extends at low tide to Burgh Island. Facilities and parking are close to the beach. Dogs restricted in summer

Blackpool Sands is a beautiful curved pebble beach, which is ideal for families with plenty of facilities and activities. Parking is right by the beach. Dogs banned in summer

At Bovisand there are two nice sandy beaches with rock pools called Bovisand Bay and Crownhill Bay. Crownhill Bay is most pleasant with picnic areas above the beach and fine views. Dogs allowed all year at the Bovisand Bay beach. At Crownhill Bay, dogs are banned on the beach

Branscombe Beach is a long pebble beach below the picturesque village of Branscombe. Parking and facilities are right by the beach. The beach stretches east for about one mile to Beer Head

Brixham is a large fishing town with a harbour and marina. Beyond the breakwater is a small triangular pebble beach called Breakwater Beach which is quite popular in summer. Facilities are close to the beach. Also at Brixham is the free outdoor swimming pool Shoalstone Pool. Dogs banned in summer on Breakwater Beach. Dogs allowed all year at Shoalstone Pool

South Devon
Broad Sand is a sandy beach with rock pools found on the coast path between Bantham Sand and Thurlestone Sand. There is no parking and facilities and the beach is usually quiet. Park at Thurlestone Sand and walk the coast path west to Broad Sand. Dogs allowed all year

Broadsands is a large curved sandy beach on the outskirts of Paignton. There are rock pools at the southern part of the beach. Facilities and parking are close to the beach. Dogs banned in summer

Budleigh Salterton is a nice seaside town with a long pebble beach which stretches west for several miles. There is easy access to the beach and facilities/parking are right by the beach. The far west of the beach is designated as clothing optional (500m west of Steamer Steps, indicated by signs). There is nice walking along the Otter Estuary. Dogs restricted in summer
