Blackpool Sands Beach

South Devon.
Description:
Blackpool Sands is a beautiful curved pebble beach, which is ideal for families with plenty of facilities and activities. Parking is right by the beach.
Safety:
Signs warn of large breaking waves, unstable cliffs and do not use inflatables outside the buoyed marker zone. Lifeguards in summer. See Beach Safety Guide.
Access:
Beach access is level or via short slopes suitable for wheel chairs, push chairs.
Dogs:
Dogs banned from 1st April to 30th September.
Directions:
Blackpool Sands is about 10 miles from Kingsbridge and 11 miles from Totnes. Take the A379 from Kingsbridge and continue on the A379 until reaching Torcross and Slapton Sands. Drive along Slapton Sands to Strete. Alternatively from the Totnes direction, take the A381 and at the Totnes Cross junction turn left onto the A3122 Dartmouth road. Continue on the A3122 for 4-5 miles, then turn right signposted to Strete and Slapton. Follow this road to Strete. At Strete continue on the A379 east for about 1 mile to reach Blackpool Sands.
